Middle School-College and Career Coach Non-classroom Assignment, Preparation Salary Table

This position is to ensure at-promise students in middle school are prepared for A-G course sequence requirements and will be successful in transitioning to high school and graduating college and career ready in accordance with District goals. These coaches will collaborate and partner with the local district and school site instructional staff, school personnel, families, parents, and the community to ensure that data-driven, results-based support services and programs are provided for our diverse students. The College and Career coach will support schools in identifying achievement gaps, informing intervention and support, assisting the implantation of English Language Arts (ELA)/English Language Development (ELD), accessing instructional technology resources accompanying the ELA/ELD materials being utilized and providing a bridge of support for at-promise middle school students in transitioning into high school. The Middle School-College and Career Coach is a support position and does not include the evaluation of teachers. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Provides demonstration lessons and supports that involve the direct instruction of pupils in ELA/ELD. • Accesses and utilizes data on grades, attendance and behavior to inform and guide dropout prevention and intervention efforts. • Implements a multi-tiered behavior and academic

support system to close the achievement gap, maintain and increase student engagement, and provide equity and access for at-promise students. • Provides direct feedback to students throughout the learning cycle in order to ensure learner agency, academic rigor, and grade-level proficiency. • Uses early alert system to identify at-promise • Works collaboratively with Local District, CoS teams, and school staff to plan for and implement literacy/English Language Arts instruction, access strategies and multi-tiered systems of support for all at-promise students, including foster youth and other targeted student populations • Provides actionable feedback and engages in collaborative discussion with academic counseling and other support service staff to monitor/support the completion of Individual Graduation Plans. Also supports the use of district-approved online platforms that support students’ college and career awareness and planning. • Models, teaches and guides educators and students in differentiated instructional practices utilizing adopted ELA/ELD materials. students, especially during transitional stages between elementary, middle and high school

• Supports principals, school teams, and teachers on intervention strategies, accessing district-approved technological resources accompanying the adopted

ELA/ELD 3 & 4 instructional material, and differentiated instruction utilizing the new ELA/ELD 3 & 4 adoption.

• Provides targeted and differentiated support and coaching on academic intervention, research-based instructional strategies, and accessing technological resources accompanying the adopted ELA/ELD instructional material. • Prepares students for the transition into high school through supporting articulation, and by providing supports to help mitigate challenges and address the social-emotional, organizational, and/or academic needs of at-promise students (e.g., English Learners, Standard English Learners, students with disabilities, and socioeconomically disadvantaged students) . • Provides training to school staff on accessing and utilizing data to inform instruction and address achievement gaps in an effort to enhance learning and engage at-promise students. • Analyzes various data sources to identify early alerts and collaborates on the design of intervention to meet needs of at-promise students
